Strong Outings Both Home & Away
Submitted By Melissa Gillespie on Saturday, November 30, 2019
2 weekends in a row, the Novice AA Under Armour Petes faced off against the Oshawa Generals.

Last Sunday, the game was in Peterborough. This first game between these 2 teams really showcased the Pete’s ability to take control of a game. They played their positions perfectly. They were moving the puck well, getting to the net, and positioning themselves to be ready for a pass or a rebound. They really focussed on getting the puck Oshawa1.jpgto the net; and were very successful in doing so. They peppered the Oshawa goalies with shots, and at the end of 42 minutes their hard work had paid off as they were victorious in all 4 matchups.

Today, the Petes travelled to Oshawa in a rematch from the previous weekend. After such a strong performance in the last game, the Pete’s were very confident heading into this one. This was a smaller ice surface than they were accustomed to playing on, and you could see Oshawa.jpgthat they needed to adjust right from puck drop. After a few shifts of back and forth play, and the puck not finding the back of the net, the players made come changes. They started to make quicker decisions with the puck, skated with the puck when they had an open lane, and made hard passes. The biggest change was how hard they went to the net; they battled hard in front and cashed in many rebounds. Once again, the Petes came out on top.

The Novice AA Under Armour Petes are back in action December 8 in Ajax.
