Petes pick up back-to-back wins in weekend action
The FCI Windows atom AA Peterborough Petes improved to 19-0 on the season with back-to-back wins this weekend.

The team entered Saturday (Oct. 28) action after having had 13 days off between games. The long layoff showed as the Petes came out flat against Clarington.

After both teams failed to score in the first period, Peterborough finally opened the scoring late in the second period. Clarington battled back and tied the game early in the third period.

The Petes were able to regain the lead at 7:04 of the third period on the power play. The Petes would also score shorthanded to take the game 3-1.

On Sunday, Peterborough travelled to Kingston for a late afternoon game.

Peterborough opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at 6:15 of the first period, but Kingston tied it back up with a goal two minutes later.

The Petes responded the following shift when a point shot found its way into the back of the net.

From there, the Petes controlled most of the game. They opened up a 5-1 lead by the end of the second, then added three more goals in the third to take an 8-1 win.

The Petes now head to London this weekend for the AA Green and White tournament. Some of the top-ranked AA teams in the province will be competing at the tournament.
